Christine is suffering from multiple sclerosis, and yearns for the day when she doesn’t have to sit in a wheelchair anymore. Even though she doesn’t believe in miracles, she travels to Lourdes. A young nun accompanies her and gives some hope of a cure. As if by a miracle, suddenly Christine walks again. But how long do miracles last? Jessica Hausner shows the ambivalence between belief, hope and the coldness of reality.
