Coming Attractions is a brilliant mix of cinema references and advertising absurdities assembled from the (unsuccessful) screen tests of advertising films. In eleven chapters, Peter Tscherkassky focuses on different versions of his source material: film development, repetition, and subversive montage obscure, comment on, and exaggerate the normally flat ad images. He does all this with a wink but never drifts into voyeuristic cynicism.
