A wooden cross, a few books, and camera equipment: a young Danish priest is meant to build a chapel and establish a parish in Iceland in the late nineteenth century. But more than just the harsh climate pushes the servant of God to his limits—he is soon embroiled in a bitter power struggle with the local craftsman Ragnar.
