The film focuses on a group of foreign legionnaires, forgotten and abandoned in an outpost on the Horn of Africa. A new promising recruit, Sentain, jeopardizes general Galoup’s admiration for his commander, and he decides to get rid of him. The plan backfires and Galoup is thrown out. From a hotel room in Marseille he reflects on his time with the company. The film is loosely structured around these memories, with plot and dialogue taking a back seat to a series of fleeting scenes and choreography. (Berlinale Forum)
