Filmed documentary-style, Ruth Mader compares and contrasts the different lifestyles of an average group of people: a doctor, a patchwork family, a pastor, a blue-collar worker, and a forester. With great sensitivity and immediacy the camera captures their daily activities and exchanges. It is in the midst of the action, and so is the viewer. It is a study of aspirations that invite one to explore one’s own notions of life and love.
